In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, companies are continually seeking innovative solutions to navigate challenges and stay ahead of the curve. Among these pioneers is FTE Performance, a leading consultancy firm specializing in operational transformation and ROI-driven consulting. With over a decade of experience, FTE Performance has carved a niche for itself by prioritizing not only operational excellence but also cultural alignment and people-focused strategies. In this exclusive interview with Biz Tech Outlook, we delve into the journey of FTE Performance, its unique approach to consulting, and the visionary leadership driving its success.
It would great to hear from you about FTE Performance.
Our approach is deeply rooted in a partnership model, emphasizing the importance of culture and people in driving sustainable change. We believe in working closely with our clients to understand not only their operational challenges but also their organizational culture and goals. Our expertise in manufacturing is complemented by a profound understanding of the human element in business. By grasping the unique needs of each business, including its people and culture, we tailor solutions that are sustainable and effective in the long term. As strategic partners, not just consultants, we are committed to our clients’ enduring success, focusing on winning together through cultural alignment and peoplefocused strategies.
Since 2013 and now being a decade old company, share with us the journey and the achievements?
Following a “just-in-time” model we continue to leverage a network of Senior Advisors to support and drive solutions to today’s toughest operational problems. We have a saying “the right people at the right time” that describes how, we approach project staffing. This creates a high level of flexibility and agility enabled by a network of highly experienced advisors that have long careers with demonstrated capabilities of driving change. These are industry experts, typically with over 25 years of experience. However, over the years the number of and variety of backgrounds and skillsets continues to grow and diversify. FTE has grown the network of senior advisors from just 5 in 2013 to over 80 in 2023.
Given our strong and growing network, we flip the traditional consulting resource model that utilize minimum senior advisors (individuals with 25+ years of industry specific experience) supported by a relatively inexperienced young consultants and analysts. FTE provides just the opposite; multiple Senior experts are placed on the front lines delivering value directly to our clients, supported by a small contingent of project managers and analysis, all at a more competitive rate than larger firms with limited senior expert capabilities.
As your company is an operations management consultant firm, give us an insight about how do you help your clients improve their business?
We focus on building long-term relationships through project delivery firmly rooted in delivering client Return on Investment, “ROI”. We continuously strive to build project scopes that clearly demonstrate ROI. Other firms tend to focus on “quick wins” and may not always engage with the “big picture” in mind. Our clients trust us because of our commitment to demonstrating value – money talks. We hope that prospective clients trust us because of the qualifications of our resources, our past project experience, and our approach including demonstrating ROI with gate reviews along the way. The bulk of our growth has been fueled by repeat business with current clients and direct unsolicited referrals from current clients into other industries.
FTE Performance offers different services, can you give us insight about the services provided?
At FTE we offer several services tailored at providing our clients with insight into to their operational strategies and approaches to improve overall performance. These services include:
Operational Performance Improvement: Implementing business tools, processes, and driving improvement against a baseline of “best practices” within a particular industry. We have a set of assessment tools that we use to evaluate a manufacturing business against best-in-class baseline and then provide very detailed recommendations and action plans toward closing these gaps and achieving a positive ROI (Return on Investment). These can be implemented as point solutions (focused projects) or as part of a large-scale transformation.
Large Scale Transformation: Driving major change to business operations across large organizations using a structured approach. Our standard approach to large scale transformation always includes dedicated cultural components. Addressing underlying organizational cultural issues as a foundation for change is a key part of FTE’s approach to this common service.
Triage/Turnaround Projects: Identifying root causes, ROI, developing action plans, and implementing containment and irreversible corrective actions for short-term specifically focused client problems.
Due Diligence: Including competitive analysis and benchmarking, feasibility studies, and creating and/or analyzing operations scenarios for existing or potential business opportunities. Our transformation activity contains a very strong organizational culture component that we believe is foundational for large scale change. Our standard approach to large scale transformation always includes dedicated cultural components.
MicroLearning: Just like our consulting services we believe that training must provide a significant return on investment. Our learning platform offers an online and ondemand access that is self-directed and self-paced. Our training is designed to be delivered in bite-size modules that build on each other and can be completed at the learner’s pace with practical “go-do” exercises that reinforce the learning and provide a sense of accomplishment. This allows our training to be infinitely scalable providing an immediate and significant return on investment while creating a Culture of common language and experiences to improve the business.
So, if you are in search of assistance to transform your business; or are seeking strategic and tactical implementation partners to assist in improving fundamental business practice & culture we are the group to engage.
