Reddit is buying the machine learning platform Spell

For an undisclosed sum, Reddit revealed it would purchase Spell, a platform for conducting machine learning (ML) experiments.

The cloud computing services offered by Spell, created in 2016 by a former Facebook developer named Serkan Piantino, enable anyone to execute resource-intensive machine learning (ML) experiments without the need for expensive hardware. The company states that its goal is to create the greatest platform for anyone wishing to create powerful, dependable, and secure software using AI and ML.

ML is now utilised by the social networking site Reddit for its Discover Tab and customised suggestions. The business uses the technology for targeted advertising and its work in safety.
