DigiNeat: Accuracy, Trust, and the People Side of Innovation

In a world of electrons where velocity sometimes outweighs substance, DigiNeat has established its name on something a little older school – precision, compassion, and trust. The company was formed in Yerevan, Armenia, and now flourishes through its U.S. affiliate, DigiNeat Smart Technologies, based in California. The history of the firm is one of deliberate expansion and understated confidence.

We caught up with Mikael Karamaniants, Chief Business Officer and ideologist of a number of successful startups at DigiNeat, to learn how his business is changing how companies are interacting with technology one thoughtful choice at a time.

Mikael, tell us about the tale behind DigiNeat. What made you start it?

DigiNeat started out with a very strong philosophy to infuse responsibility and care into digital creation. I’ve always felt that being a good developer isn’t simply about producing great code; it’s about recognizing that every choice we take affects someone’s business and livelihood. We wanted to create a company that takes clients’ success personally because their success is our future.

DigiNeat expanded from Armenia to the U.S. with DigiNeat Smart Technologies based in California. What motivated that growth?

The thought was to get more proximate with our North American clients to provide them with convenience, communication, and local presence. The U.S. office enables us to respond quicker and better mesh with their business hours and expectations. But most importantly, it brought something unique in our line of business: we do not accept advance payment from clients in the U.S. and Canada.

Exactly no deposits, no advance fees. Clients pay after every phase is finished and signed off. This approach wins trust from day one. We know it’s risky, sure, but we have faith in the standard of our work. If you really believe in what you do, you don’t need to request advances your results will speak for themselves.

We’re sure of our results. That’s why our clients only pay when they see real progress.”

That kind of confidence is unusual for tech. How do you maintain it?

It is derived from discipline and experience. We’ve learned over the years that precision and care always work. Each project we undertake is handled with a rational mind not emotional or instinctive. We plan, we test, we optimize. Our clients trust us because we never overpromise; we just deliver.

And let me add, our team is incredible. The level of capability in the areas of design, analytics, and development enables us to tackle a broad spectrum of industries without compromising focus. That affords us the courage to pursue challenging projects and execute them with perfection.

So, talking about industries DigiNeat’s customer list is incredibly varied. Which spaces are you most involved in?

We have done a tremendous amount of work in banking and fintech, and some of the projects that we have done have won awards. We also deal with construction companies, SaaS, B2B services, e-commerce, and even messaging platforms.

What makes us different is our adaptability. We do not limit ourselves to a single industry. Our concern is always how to efficiently solve actual problems whether it’s developing a secure banking framework or designing an efficient digital platform for an emerging startup.

There’s a tale of about one project that almost strained your team to the breaking point yet turned out to be one of your greatest successes. Can you share with us about that?

Yes, that one pushed us to our limits. We had a client who had an excellent idea, but the estimated cost of the project was several million dollars over their budget. Rather than saying no to them, we sought ways to streamline and optimize.

We worked tirelessly, barely sleeping, and in the end, delivered a competitive, high-quality product for under $1 million. It was an emotional and professional rollercoaster. But the client was thrilled, and it taught us that with teamwork, belief, and discipline, anything is possible.

Internal culture at DigiNeat also appears to be an integral component of its success. You have a very low turnover for an IT firm. How do you manage to achieve this?

We have a turnover of less than 3%, which is practically non-existent in our industry. We do it because we treat people like family. We have always believed in treating your specialists the way you yourself want to be treated.

We nurture growth, encourage learning, and create an environment where everyone feels valued. No one here feels replaceable. When people feel respected and supported, they give their best not because they must, but because they want to.

“In our company, no one is a cog in a machine. Everyone is part of the engine.”

You’ve mentioned Tony Hsieh of Zappos as an influence. How did his ideas shape DigiNeat’s culture?

Tony Hsieh’s company culture way of thinking was really inspiring to me. He felt that happiness equals productivity, and I couldn’t disagree more. We’ve put many of his concepts of open communication, transparency, and empowerment into practice. Culture is not just a buzzword for us it’s our core. If your team feels happy, your customers will feel happy too.

With an industry fixated on trends, how do you choose which innovations to implement and which to eschew?

Experience will teach you how to cut through noise and value. Other companies implement new technologies because they are trendy. We don’t. Any innovation we look at must demonstrate that it can make our client’s business more efficient, cost-effective, or profitable.

If something’s shiny but doesn’t bring any value, we call it out. A good client likes that. We always prefer smart innovation over trendy innovation.

Lastly, what does DigiNeat’s guarantee “If we take on a project, success is guaranteed” say to you?

It signifies responsibility. It signifies that if DigiNeat makes a promise, we do everything we can to fulfil it. We don’t think of success as a choice it’s our norm. Each project we deliver has our name and pride behind it. And if we state that success is ensured, it’s not a catchphrase it’s how we operate.
